Breast tomosynthesis is quickly becoming integrated into our breast imaging armamentarium, and the data supporting its use continues to mount. Are you realizing the full potential of this tool? In this hands-on, interactive workshop we move beyond the fundamentals to explore topics for optimizing tomosynthesis in current practice: its role in diagnostic evaluation; integrating tomosynthesis with information from ultrasound and MRI; and the use of the synthetic mammogram. The evolution of breast density in breast imaging practice and the relationship of breast density and tomosynthesis performance will be discussed. We will also look at changes to screening mammography guidelines put forward by the USPSTF as well as the American Cancer Society and consider how the use of tomosynthesis could shift the harm-benefit equation.
